Friendly Book Store was family-owned and operated for over 85 years, proudly serving the Quakertown community since its founding in 1940. What began as a small presentation of Bibles and Christian literature by Linford Rotenberger—a Church of the Brethren minister from a long-established local family—grew into a beloved local institution.

The store first opened in the front lobby of Merchants Bank, once located where Dunkin Donuts now stands. After a move to another nearby shop, Friendly Book Store eventually settled at its longtime home on the corner of Third and West Broad Street.

Now, after 85 wonderful years, Friendly Book Store has officially closed its doors. We are deeply grateful to the Quakertown community for decades of support, friendship, and loyalty. It has truly been a privilege to serve you.
